HOW TO GO ABOUT REMATERIALISATION of Mutual Funds / Shares?

1) Can my electronic holdings be converted back into certificates ?
A:   Yes. If you wish to get back your securities in physical form, all you have to do is request for rematerialisation of the same. ‘Rematerialisation’ is a  term used for converting electronic holding back into certificates. D.P.  will forward your request to the register after verifying that you have the   necessary balances.   The registrar will print the certificates and dispatch  the same to you.

2) Will I get back the same certificates after rematerialisation ?

A:   You may not be allotted certificates with the same distinctive and certificate numbers. However, it does not matter really. You will usually be allotted a new folio number. However, if you already have an existing folio number, you may be allotted the same.
